The Center d'Accueil et d'Accompaniment des Francophones Immigrants du Sud-Est du Nouveau-Brunswick (CAFi) contributes to the economic, social and cultural integration of Francophone immigrants through services, programs and partnerships.

 

The goal of the project is to set up a presentation of popular legal information intended for immigrants in the region and to offer them, on occasion, legal assistance during meetings with clients. The project hastwo sections:

 

1. Presentation on specific themes affecting immigrants: The organization will survey its clientele to identify the questions asked by clients. Students will have to do research in order to provide popular legal information to clients and this information will be reconciled in a presentation of the PowerPoint type which will then be presented to the organization's clientele by the students.

2. Juridic assistance: On certain occasions when the need arises, the CAFi will organize meetings with clients. Students will be able to attend the meetings, identify the questions asked by the client. and will have to carry out legal research in order to provide legal information. to respond to the items identified.

Criteria:  

• Ability to deal with the project in complete confidentiality; 

• Be bilingual; 

• Excellent research, written and oral communication skills; and

• Have an open mind

Assets: 

• Immigration law background; and

• Previous internship experience with the target population: immigrants.es
